Cornwall Hospice Care is an independent Cornish Charity, uniquely placed within the community and committed to the delivery of excellence in Specialist Palliative Care across Cornwall

The aim of Cornwall Hospice Care is to provide the highest quality care to alleviate pain and distressing symptoms for people with life-threatening illness, and to offer practical, emotional and spiritual support to them, their family and their carers.

Cornwall Hospice Care offers 24 specialist palliative care beds across two units, outpatient appointments for day treatments and therapies, including lymphoedema clinics on both hospice sites.  They aim to deliver the very best in specialist palliative care in a homely and friendly atmosphere and bring the patient’s pain and symptoms of illness under control, enabling many to return to their own home.

They exercise a truly holistic approach in the care of our patients and believe that emotional and spiritual health is as important as the physical. Patients may also receive a wide range of complementary therapies, which include massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.

Their multi-disciplinary team consists of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, complementary therapists, patient and family support team, chaplaincy volunteers and bereavement counsellors, all of whom offer non-judgemental and impartial support to patients, their families and their carers.

Their service is free of charge to the patient. However, their charity status means that they rely heavily on financial and voluntary support from the general public by way of charitable donations, legacies, shops income, fundraising events and various other activities.

Many individuals who are admitted to the hospice return home to carry on living their lives independently with continued support from us in partnership with other agencies.
