CHYAN COMMUNITY FIELD - Halvasso (nr Falmouth)
We have opportunities for people to volunteer at Chyan Community Field, mostly at weekends but some week days might be possible. We run a environmental study centre and community field based on permaculture. Duties include weeding, mulching trees, general gardening and maintenance.
No experience necessary. Based at Halvasso outside Penryn and there may be the possibility of transport. Please call Hannah on 07930 802543 or 01326 341339
Also we would like someone to design a website for us. We have photos and text and would love it if someone could do it voluntarily but there may be funds available.
VOLUNTEERING AT EDEN
The role of volunteers at Eden is to provide links between visitors and the project; to increase public awareness of our activities and charitable status and to highlight our work in conservation, education and sustainability. Volunteers play a big part in making Eden an even friendlier and more interesting place for all our visitors.
Volunteers become involved in a wide range of activities and the project tries to make use of peoples specific talents. Eden does however need help in certain areas and a commitment of at least 72 hours service per year.
Volunteers are not expected to have any prior knowledge and will receive plenty of support and training from our staff. Participation in relevant training events is part of volunteering and enables helpers to talk to all our visitors in an informed, yet informal manner - as is the Eden way. Volunteering is ideal for getting involved at Eden and for enjoying the company of people with similar interests. The work is varied, educational and interesting as well as enormously enjoyable and satisfying. Volunteers must be over 18 years of age. For more information, contact EDEN directly. Full volunteering contacts and info are on their website.
